Giornale della Vela Article – November 7 2024

With so many superboats “on the catwalk” at the latest edition of the Superyacht Cup in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, there was indeed eye candy to be had.

We are talking about the 59-meter ketch Maximus, which, moreover, won on her debut at sea in the A category and then, shortly thereafter, set the course record on the Mallorca-Ibiza route, 48 miles in just three hours and 31 minutes.

A New Balance

The new maxi approach to yachting isn’t just
a question of overall length or virtuous design. It’s also a new eco-friendly identity in our approach and our choices, gradually challenging habits that are often still unsustainable and energy-intensive.

“DreamCatcher” represents a dream for Nautor, an innovative small maxi, the first of two new Swan 88 yachts launched in spring at the BTC Boatbuilding Technology Centre in Pietarsaari, Finland. It is Nautor’s first hybrid prototype featuring mixed thermal and electric propulsion…”

Nuovo equilibrio

“A pure mini-maxi, the Swan 80 is a dynamic evolution of the successful Swan 78 that offers versatility and performance in spades”

“Capitalising on Finnish brand Nautor’s extensive experience crafting stunning blue water sailing yachts, the Swan 80 is a vessel that delivers maxi yacht-level performance in a 24-metre format that conforms with Mediterranean marine regulations without any sense of sacrifice. Building on the success of the Swan 78 – the 10 currently sailing were delivered without modifications showing a unique synchronicity with Swan owners – the Swan 80, the largest model in the Swan line and the smallest of the Maxi models, takes comfort and performance a step further while retaining the Nautor Swan DNA.”
